This includes lighting a virtual candle, placing a pin on a global map, uploading a photo, and writing a tribute. A portion of the proceeds from paid memorials is donated to animal welfare causes.
2. User Content and Conduct
Because our platform is a place of healing and remembrance, we require all users to maintain a respectful environment:
- Appropriate Content: All uploaded photos, names, and messages must be respectful and related to honoring a pet. We strictly prohibit offensive, harmful, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
- Rights to Content: You confirm that you own the rights to the photos and text you upload. By uploading them, you grant us the right to display them publicly on the PawCandle website.
- Content Removal: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to hide or remove any memorial that violates these terms, is deemed inappropriate, or causes distress to our community, without a refund.
3. Payments and Duration
When you create a memorial, you may choose the duration for which the candle will remain active on our map. Payments are processed securely via third-party providers (such as Stripe). We do not store your credit card information.
Refunds: Due to the digital nature of the service and the charitable aspect of the platform, all sales are final. If you encounter a technical issue with your memorial, please contact our support team, and we will happily assist you in fixing it.
4. Magic Links & Account Security
We do not require traditional passwords. Instead, we use "magic links" sent to your provided email address to grant you access to edit or manage your memorial. You are responsible for keeping this link private and securing access to your email account.
5. Intellectual Property
The design, graphics, text, and layout of the PawCandle website are owned by us and are protected by copyright laws. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the code or visual design without express written permission.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
We strive to keep the sanctuary glowing 24/7, but we do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from server issues, though we perform regular backups.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall PawCandle or its creators be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use our website or services.
